Premium Reliability & Performancein an Intelligent BUC package
Terrasat’s IBUC products are engineered to endure. The goal of long term reliability is realized through conservative design to deliver products that hold up in extreme operating conditions. Transparent specifications backed by test data guarantee key performance indicators such as low phase noise, high linearity, & rated output power over temperature. Internal sensors plus a microprocessor with advanced software enable a rich feature set including local & remote management so you can support your SLA while minimizing site maintenance costs.
Ultimate Reliability
Engineered for extreme operating conditions with field proven low failure rates. Reliability baked in--literally. Each sub-assembly is tested at every step during production for optimal reliability.
Multiprotocol Management & Diagnostics
Full management & control anywhere at anytime. Web interface for local M&C, & NMS-friendly SNMP for remote NMS.
Superior RF Performance
Superior linearity for maximum useable output power & Low phase noise to support new higher order modulation techniques. In addition, every IBUC undergoes a 24-48 hour automated final testing protocol over temperature & frequency band.
Complete Feature set
User-configurable alarms, AGC/ALC, performance trend analysis, event logs...all included. Redundancy & high stability internal 10 MHz reference options.

GaN or GaAs?
Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology has more recently been deployed as devices have become available in frequency bands used in Satcom. The key advantage of GaN is its high RF density. That is, the device delivers greater amplification in a smaller package. This enables us to develop IBUCs with higher output power in a smaller enclosure. As a result, GaN-based IBUC Gs are a viable alternative to TWTAs. And the smaller profile IBUC 2G model yields an advantage in many applications such as mobility. The power transfer curve of a GaN amplifier is not linear like that of a GaAs device. Therefore we have taken care in product design to compensate for the non-linearity. Although GaN amplifiers are rated at PSat, the important figure for comparison is the amount of output power required to achieve linear power. Terrasat IBUC G and IBUC 2G models are carefully designed for minimal back off, which translates into more usable power for your investment.
IBUC models relying on GaAs FET amplifiers deliver solid performance in a cost-effective package that is suitably sized for a broad range of applications. GaAs devices are extremely linear with a well-defined power rating at the P1dB point. At most frequency bands, GaAs devices are in ready supply from several sources. With their field-proven performance over the long term, GaAs IBUC 2 and IBUC R models deliver optimal value for low and mid-power satellite terminals. The smaller, lighter package IBUC 2s are an excellent choice for the majority of Satcom terminals.
